Hi there! I would like to introduce Sapporo Odori 4th Ave Festival which was held from July 2 to July 3, 2016 (よんばんがいまつり：四番街祭り).
First of all, Odori 4th Av is a main street in heart of shopping district in Sapporo.
It’s a wide street has a median strip, which is known as “station road” among locals.
Street stalls line up their shops in the Odori 4th Av that is temporarily closed to vehicle traffic during two days of Saturday and Sunday in the early July every year.
There are many street stalls along the street, you can enjoy several activities such as carnival shooting gallery, Goldfish scooping, yo-yo fishing, quoits, dropped Dharma game, shaved ice (usually served with flavored simple syrup), cotton candy, popcorn, blowguns experience
Take a look at the movie below!
As the video clip has shown, you can see some performance like dancing, amateur wrestling, and singing.
Among those activities, the most moving performance for me was unicycle dancing show played by schoolchildren. I was amazed that they performed such really difficult acting!
Japanese tradition and unique performance.
I recommend you will schedule the festival if you visit Sapporo in July.
Thank you for reading!
